What it supports

Goals worth discussing clearly.

  • Sparse or patchy brows
  • Gaps or missing brow tails
  • Uneven brow shape
  • Daily brow-pencil routine

Microblading places cosmetic pigment into superficial skin using very fine strokes intended to read like individual brow hairs. Light shading is an optional addition that sets a soft, powder-like backdrop between those strokes for extra depth.

Anima’s current page describes custom-blended pigments selected to suit natural hair tone and skin undertone, with intensity chosen by the client. It remains a form of cosmetic tattooing: pigment fades over time, and healed brows look softer than they do immediately after treatment.

Your appointment

A considered process, step by step.

  1. 01

    Map

Facial measurements are used to design a brow shape, which is approved before any pigment is placed.

  2. 02

    Numb

A topical numbing cream is applied to support comfort through the session.

  3. 03

    Blade

Fine hair-like strokes are created through the skin using a micro-blade and the selected pigment.

  4. 04

    Shade

If chosen, a soft stippled shadow is layered between the strokes before healing guidance is reviewed.

Before you book

Candidacy, preparation, and care after.

01

Who it may suit

May suit adults who want to rebuild sparse areas, gaps, or missing brow tails. Skin type, oiliness, healing history, medicines, pregnancy, active skin conditions, previous brow pigment, and scar tendency all affect suitability and must be assessed in person.

02

How to prepare

Anima’s current page advises avoiding alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, and blood thinners for 24 hours beforehand, and pausing retinol and chemical peels for at least two weeks. Do not stop prescribed medication without medical advice.

03

Downtime & response

Brows usually look darker and sharper at first, followed by dryness, flaking, and patchy-looking fading as the skin heals. Anima does not publish a downtime estimate for this service, so expected timing is confirmed at your appointment.

04

Aftercare

Follow the artist’s exact healing protocol, avoid picking or scrubbing the area, and limit sweating, swimming, sun, and unapproved products while the skin settles. Book the touch-up only once healing is complete.

Consultation matters: A consultation is required to confirm suitability, treatment scope, expected downtime, and current pricing.

Your questions, answered

Microblading & Light Shading FAQ.

01What is the difference between microblading and light shading?

Anima describes microblading as individual hair-like strokes, while light shading adds a soft powdery shadow between them for extra depth and apparent thickness.

02Is the shading step optional?

Yes. The current page presents shading as an optional upgrade, so the finish can stay closer to bare hair strokes or carry more background fullness.

03Does the process hurt?

A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the session. Anima reports most clients feel only a light scratching sensation, although sensitivity varies.

04How should I prepare?

Avoid alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, and blood thinners for 24 hours prior, and stop retinol or chemical peels for at least two weeks before the visit.

05How long do results last?

Anima lists roughly 12 to 24 months depending on skin type, lifestyle, and sun exposure, with a touch-up 4 to 6 weeks after the first visit and periodic maintenance after that.
