Who it may suit
Often suitable for dry, dull, or uneven surface texture. Active cystic acne, infection, open lesions, significant irritation, and some recent procedures are reasons to defer.
Skin & facial rejuvenation · Precision surface exfoliation

What it supports
Dermaplaning uses a sterile surgical blade held at a controlled angle to remove the outermost buildup of dead skin cells and fine facial vellus hair.
It does not change the number or structure of hair follicles, so treated hair does not grow back thicker. Active inflamed acne can make the service unsuitable.
Your appointment
The aesthetician checks for active acne, irritation, recent procedures, and contraindications.
Skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepared for a dry, controlled surface.
The blade is passed carefully across selected facial areas.
Hydration and SPF complete the service.
Potential benefits
Benefits describe treatment goals, not guaranteed outcomes. Your provider will explain what is realistic for you.
Before you book
Often suitable for dry, dull, or uneven surface texture. Active cystic acne, infection, open lesions, significant irritation, and some recent procedures are reasons to defer.
Avoid tanning, irritating exfoliation, and facial hair-removal methods as directed. Share active prescriptions and recent treatments.
Most clients have no downtime. Mild pinkness or sensitivity can occur for several hours.
Avoid aggressive actives and additional exfoliation, keep skin hydrated, and use broad-spectrum SPF because freshly exfoliated skin can be more sun-sensitive.
Your questions, answered
No. Dermaplaning does not change the follicle or hair structure, so vellus hair returns with the same basic characteristics.
Anima describes no downtime, although temporary pinkness or sensitivity is possible.
Yes, it can be paired with selected hydrating or facial steps when the skin is suitable.
Anima suggests about every four weeks for some clients, subject to skin condition and other treatments.
